Acknowledgements
After thanking friends who helped in the preparation of the book, Kelly went on:
I am particularly indebted to the staff of the City of Sydney Library for much valuable assistance and for permission to reproduce the photographs which form an indispensable part of this book. I am pleased to note that the "Demolition Books" held by th Council of the City of Sydney, initially in poor repair, have now been resuscitated. Thus is preserved a fascinating collection of documentary material pertaining to Sydney's past."
